Zebra Pleco L046 are known for their peaceful nature, getting along well with their own kind and other fish species. It’s important to provide plenty of caves and hiding spots to establish territories if you plan on keeping them in a group. These plecos thrive in highly oxygenated water and slightly acidic conditions, so maintaining a stable pH level between 6.5-7.2 is recommended. Zebra Plecos also prefer warmer temperatures, ideally between 26°C-30°C. To mimic their natural habitat, consider adding powerheads for a fast flow in the tank. Suitable tank mates include tetras, Corydoras, Rasboras, and other peaceful fish that enjoy swimming in currents. Determining the sex of Zebra Plecos can be challenging in young fish. Males typically have a thicker first pectoral ray and develop odontodes during breeding. They also tend to have a broader head and slimmer body. Females, on the other hand, are wider across the body, and their stripes may curve slightly due to their body shape.
