This species thrives on wood as its main source of food, so it’s best to provide a variety of wood types for them to chew on. In addition to wood, they also enjoy a vegetarian diet consisting of algae wafers, fresh vegetables like courgette, and tubers such as potato or sweet potato. They are compatible with peaceful community fish, although they may show some territorial behavior towards their own kind. To keep them happy, make sure to provide plenty of hiding spots in the aquarium, with around 30 x 30cm of space per fish.
