A sandy substrate is essential to protect their delicate sensory barbels, and providing shady hiding spots among driftwood and broad leaved plants will make them feel secure. Floating plants can help diffuse bright lighting, while peat filtration will maintain soft and acidic water conditions, allowing the fish to display their best colors.
