Dwarf Chain Loaches represent an excellent option for smaller, tranquil aquarium communities. It is recommended to keep them in sizable groups, with a minimum of five individuals. The substrate should be composed of fine sand to safeguard their sensitive barbels, and the environment should include ample hiding spots created by bogwood, caves, and aquatic vegetation. Uniquely among Botiid loaches, Dwarf Chain Loaches display a tendency to shoal above the substrate and often do so during daylight hours. Maintaining clean, well-oxygenated water is crucial, and it is advisable to perform water changes of 10-15% twice a week.
