Adolfo’s Cory, a captivating and highly sought-after species, thrives in smaller softwater aquariums. It is essential to have a soft sand substrate to protect their delicate barbel area, along with plenty of shady hiding spots among bogwood/plants. Keeping Corydoras adolfoi in groups of 5 or more is crucial due to their sociable nature. The aquarium must be well-established before introducing this species, and regular partial water changes are necessary to prevent elevated nitrate levels. To encourage C. adolfoi to come out into view, consider adding large shoals of small midwater “dither fish.” Peaceful tankmates like tetras, pencilfish, and rasboras are ideal companions for Corydoras. Additionally, Corydoras have the unique ability to breathe air intestinally.
