Discus

Discus fish are prized tropical fish, often considered the royalty of freshwater aquariums. To successfully care for discus, it’s important to understand their nature. As cichlids, they exhibit parental behaviors, safeguarding their eggs and young from threats. While they typically form pairs, discus thrive in larger groups when not mated, as they are schooling fish. Unlike some other cichlid species, such as Convicts or Oscars, discus tend to be more gentle and can be shy, making them vulnerable to bullying and competition during feeding.
