In its natural habitat, the Midnight Lady snail resides on stones and rocks along riverbanks. Females lay their eggs on hard surfaces, but the larvae require brackish or saltwater to develop further. The Midnight Lady is a fantastic algae eater, effectively cleaning algae from hard surfaces like stones, roots, and aquarium glass. After adjusting to its new environment, it will also enjoy additional foods such as vegetables, leaves, or specialized snail food, while leaving aquarium plants untouched. This gentle snail thrives in water with a pH range of 7 to 8 and prefers medium to high carbonate hardness. It may occasionally venture out of the water, so it’s important to ensure the aquarium is secure. Due to its calm demeanor, it can coexist peacefully with other aquatic creatures, but should be kept away from potential predators like puffer fish or loaches.
