Distinguishing between male and female Blue Acaras is relatively simple, as males tend to be larger with pointed dorsal and anal fins, while females are smaller and have a more rounded appearance. Originally from Venezuela and Trinidad, the Blue Acara is a peaceful South American cichlid that can coexist with less aggressive American cichlids in community tanks.
