Originating from the Orinoco River basin in South America, the Vampire Pleco thrives in fast-flowing waters. It prefers rocky areas where it can feed on biofilms and algae. When it comes to feeding, the L29 Vampire Pleco is mainly a carnivore, but it also enjoys some plant-based foods. A well-rounded diet should consist of high-quality sinking pellets, frozen or live foods like bloodworms, and occasional veggies such as zucchini or cucumber. Providing driftwood is crucial for their digestion and to satisfy their gnawing instincts.
